Y.O.U. Seeks a Manager of Information Technology that can both support the organization in making strategic IT decisions and that can address Y.O.U.'s routine information technology needs.
Youth Organizations Umbrella (Y.O.U.), an Evanston-based non-profit empowering youth success, is seeking a Manager of Information Technology that can both support the organization in making strategic IT decisions and that can address Y.O.U.’s routine information technology needs. Under the direction of the Chief Operations Officer, this Manager of IT will oversee Y.O.U.’s information technology operations, including IT planning, implementing new systems, maintaining current systems, and troubleshooting and repair. The position is part-time (10-15 hours per week) and Y.O.U. is glad to accommodate talented candidates who require flexible hours. The Manager’s responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the staff in researching, testing, choosing, designing and implementing new technology solutions.
- Troubleshooting all user issues (among Y.O.U.’s 49 employees).
- Optimizing performance of day-to-day technology operations.
- Monitoring all IT components to ensure they are functioning properly.
- Coordinating with vendor technical support to resolve issues relating to purchased products or services.

We are seeking talented and motivated candidates with the following experience and expertise:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, systems engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency managing MS office applications, google-based applications, firewalls, virus softwares, and internet/wireless systems.
- Strong project management skills, including an ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a customer service orientation.
- Professional experience in the IT field.
- A passion for Y.O.U.'s mission of ensuring that all youth have the resources they need to thrive.
- Personal qualities of integrity and credibility.
- An ability to work well with others in a highly collaborative environment.
The position is part-time (10-15 hours) and Y.O.U. is able to offer an annual salary in the $10-15k range. Y.O.U. recognizes this salary level is well below the market rate for the talent it is seeking and the organization is therefore looking for candidates who are drawn to its mission, friendly team atmosphere, and flexible work environment.
