Evanston Under Flood Watch As Severe Storms Hit Chicagoland

The National Weather Service said 1 to 2 inches of rain are expected to fall per hour.

EVANSTON, IL — Evanston is under flood watch as more severe storms are expected to hit the Chicagoland Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service, showers are expected to last until 1 a.m. Thursday, and rain is expected to fall at rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas, and wet soil from recent rainfall will increase the chances of flash flooding.

Forecasters warned that creeks and streams may rise out of their banks and underpasses may be flooded.
