Capt. Pete Casey Retires From Evanston Fire Department
The retiring Fire Captain has served the City of Evanston for more than 33 years.

EVANSTON, IL — After more than 33 years serving the city with the Evanston Fire Department, Captain Peter A. Casey has announced his retirement. Casey began his career as an Evanston firefighter on May 7, 1984 and has served the City of Evanston and the EFD with honor and dedication, according to a news release from the department.
"When I reflect upon the outstanding career of Captain Casey, I can't think of a single firefighter who loved coming to work every day more than Pete," Fire Chief Brian Scott said.
"His passion for helping others in need combined with his toughness and no no-nonsense approach made him an excellent firefighter, paramedic and company officer," according to Evanston's fire chief.

Evanston Fire Department wished Casey a happy and healthy retirement and all the best with his future endeavors.
Casey's son, Peter J. Casey, is also a captain with the department.

The department invited the public to join Casey and his crew for a flag lowering ceremony on Wednesday, November 22, 7 a.m., at Fire Station 3, 1105 Central St., at the conclusion of his final day on the job.
A Remembrance of the Fallen Ceremony will follow immediately after.
