The City of Evanston will pilot a new lakefront parking program beginning the week of August 2 and continuing through October 31.

As a part of this pilot program, parking rates for vehicles without a current year paid Evanston wheel tax will be set at $3 per hour for designated streets along the lakefront with enforcement between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m., seven days a week. Pay stations will be installed for coin or credit card transactions, and zones will be created to allow for ParkEvanston app payments.

Those who are parking vehicles registered to an Evanston address with a current year paid wheel tax will not need to pay for these lakefront parking sessions

The pilot program will cover the following locations:

  • 1700 through 1800 Sheridan Road
  • 1400 Sheridan Road (Arrington Lagoon lot)
  • 1400 Sheridan Road (Dawes Park lot)
