With the recent increase of violence in our community,and the passage of concealed carry in the State Of Illinois, will this decrease the recent violence in Evanston. It seems that as though more laws and restrictions are put on the law abiding citizens to protect themselves, it gives the criminals more leeway to bring harm or hurt to us or are families. Even though law abiding citizens don't always make some right decisions , there are still some areas of serious concern. Will the new CC law insure that our community doesn't turn into the Wild West?, Will it insure that we don't have profiling issues for those permitted to carry a concealed firearm? and will criminals have a second thought about running up on someone that might be carrying? The most serious concern is that we don't end up like the State of Florida with a Trayvon Martin trajedy. Is our local law enforcement going to go through extra training, as to see we don't end up with incidents of officers shooting someone legally allowed to carry concealed.
Our City Council need to start focusing on these issues, instead of were the next chain store should go, Or new vehicles, when crime is still occurring and doesn't seem to be stopping.
