District 65 Board Member to Resign

Richard Rykhus says a new job is the reason for his upcoming resignation.

EVANSTON, IL - Evanston/Skokie School District 65 board of education member and vice president Richard Rykhus will resign after the board’s next meeting on Jan. 10, according to an Evanston Now report.

Rykhus is in his second term on the District 65 board and cited a new job that is more demanding as reason for his upcoming resignation.

He does want to be a member of the board when it votes to place a $14.5 million operating referendum on the ballot for voters in the district. That vote is scheduled for the Jan. 10 meeting.
