Driver Shot At, Cut By Glass On Howard
Another car pulled up alongside an Evanston motorist and shot out his window Thursday night, police said.

EVANSTON, IL — Police are investigating a report of a shooting that left one man injured Thursday night. An Evanston motorist was cut by shards of glass after another driver pulled up alongside his SUV and shot into it around 10 p.m. near the intersection of Howard Street and Dodge Avenue, police said.
The driver told police he had been driving west on Howard and was trying to make a right turn onto northbound Dodge when a silver car with one man inside pulled up to him, according to Evanston Police Cmdr. Joseph Dugan.
The other driver fired a single shot into the window of the 21-year-old Evanston man's driver's side door. The glass shattered, cutting the man in his face, police said. He was treated at St. Francis hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Two other men in the car were not injured in the shooting.

The shooter was described as a Hispanic or black man wearing a black or red baseball hat and driving a silver four-door sedan with tinted windows and silver rims.
The suspect's car was last seen heading south on California Avenue from Howard.

Police are investigating the incident and asked anyone with any information about it to contact the Evanston Police Department's detective bureau at 847-866-5040.
