ETHS Boys Soccer Team Off to Hot Start
The Wildkits are 8-0-1 after nine games and have earned shutouts in all wins.
Not only has the Evanston Township High School boys soccer team been unbeatable through its first nine games of the 2015 season, all but one of the teams they have faced haven’t even been able to muster a goal.
The Wildkits are hot. How hot?
They have won eight games in a row. All have been shutouts. After a season opening 2-2 tie against Conant, goaltender Adam Masters has been a wall, having not given up a goal in his last 840 minutes as of September 16.

“We are off to a great start,” ETHS Head Coach Franz Calixte said. “Adam is having the year we expected him to have as a three-year starter.”
The team has responded with an impressive 8-0-1 record.

The eight wins haven’t come against just anybody, either. During their streak, the Wildkits have beaten some tough competition such as Daily Herald No. 7 Warren and No. 10 Libertyville, both of whom lost 1-0 affairs to Evanston.
It hasn’t been just Masters responsible for the strong beginning.
Erick Balthazar leads the team in goals and assists, even after missing most of the preseason due to a relative’s wedding overseas. Defender Henry Young scored a goal during each of the team’s first four games.
“Captains Christyan De La Cruz and Adam Trujillo have been consistent throughout the season and are improving every game,” Calixte said.
Captain Jesus Villasenor, has been out with a concussion from the Conant game, is anticipated to make “an immediate impact” upon his return, the coach added.
The Wildkits will look to continue their momentum on Thursday, September 17 with a home match against Glenbrook South.
