ETHS Ranked Among Top Illinois High Schools by U.S. News and World Report

The Evanston high school was ranked among the best 500 in the nation and saw higher marks than New Trier.

EVANSTON, IL - Evanston Township High School was ranked among the top 15 high schools in Illinois by U.S. News and World Report, which released its annual list Monday night.

ETHS, ranked 13th in the state and No. 452 nationally, beat out archrival New Trier High School in this year’s rankings. New Trier was rated as the 22nd best high school in Illinois and 642nd nationally.

Schools nationwide are evaluated based on overall student performance on state assessments, Advanced Placement tests and International Baccalaureate exams. The ranking also takes into account how well schools educate black, Hispanic and economically disadvantaged students.

ETHS is up two spots among Illinois high schools on the list from last year, when the school was ranked 15th best in the state.
