Evanston Ethics Board New Members Approved
Vacancies prevented hearing on campaign complaints before last week's vote.

EVANSTON, IL — Evanston City Council voted to approved the appointments of two new members and the reappointment of one to the city's Board of Ethics at an abbreviated meeting Monday, according to Evanston Now.
The board was unable to hear ethics complaints about the recent election prior to last week's election because two of its seats were left vacant, depriving it of a quorum when one member was unable to make a meeting. Outgoing Mayor Elizabeth Tisdahl had not appointed anyone new to the board since 2014.
Rotary Foundation Director of Gift Planning Karena Bierman and Coast Guard law enforcement specialist Vincent Thomas are the new additions to the board. Kelda Harris-Hartry was reappointed. Aldermen Brian Miller and Judy Fiske voted against all three nominations. Alderman Rainey joined them to vote against Thomas, Evanston Now reported.
