Evanston Police Phone System Working Again

All 911 calls were routed to the Wilmette dispatch on Wednesday. Regular phone service was also down at Evanston Police Department.

UPDATE from City Manager Wally Bobkiewicz - All communication systems at EPD now operational. Outage was caused by an electrical malfunction.

6:30 p.m. on Wednesday - The Evanston Police Department is currently experiencing some communication issues, and all 911 calls are being routed to the Wilmette Police Department dispatch, according to Evanston City Manager Wally Bobkiewicz.

Regular telephone service at the department was also disrupted around 6 p.m., so residents should call 911 for any police issue.

The Wilmette dispatch will communicate all Evanston calls to the EPD.
