Evanston Woman Charged in Fatal Vehicle Crash
Aggravated DUI charges levied against Monica Wallace for Sunday morning crash on Dodge Avenue that killed an Army veteran.

An Evanston woman has been charged in connection with a Sunday morning car crash that resulted in the death of a local Army veteran.
Charges against Monica Wallace, 42, of 1422 Brown Ave., were approved by the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office - Felony Review Unit Monday night. Wallace is charged with aggravated DUI, a Class 1 felony and DUI, a Class A misdemeanor.
Previous reports indicated Wallace had been driving a 1998 Nissan hen it hit several parked cars and flipped in the 1700 block of Dodge Avenue around 2:20 a.m. on Sunday. Lamart Bailey, 45, a passenger in the vehicle, was trapped underneath the car after it crashed and died shortly after.

Wallace had been in serious condition as of Monday.
Wallace was also cited with disobeying a red light, driving in the wrong lane, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and no insurance.
