Final Dempster Street Paving Phase Begins Monday

Starting Monday, the final asphalt surface paving operations will begin on Dempster Street in Evanston with the sweeping and priming of roadway oil.

One lane will be closed in sections for priming to cure on the roadway surface. Drivers are encouraged to use alternate east-west routes for travel. Drivers who have to use Dempster Street should slow down and use caution.

For final asphalt surface paving, sections of Dempster Street will be closed, maintaining one lane of traffic in each direction. The entire paving operation is expected to be complete next week followed by pavement marking, weather permitting.
