Fire Department Seeks Donations for Families Displaced by Fire
Clothing items for adults, teen girls and young boys are needed for families displaced by Sherman Avenue fire.

EVANSTON, IL - The Evanston Fire Department has taken up a cause to help the 18 Evanston residents displaced by an apartment fire near Sherman Avenue and Reba Place earlier this week.
"Many of the residents are now approaching the holidays in need of basic items such as clothing and shoes," the department wrote in a news release Friday seeking donations.
The department will accept donations at all five of its fire stations from Saturday, Dec. 10 through Friday, Dec. 23. in an effort to help the families victimized by the fire.

Clothes (including socks, underwear and shoes) are needed for boys, ages 4,6, and 8. Items for teen girls, as well as parents are also in demand. Gift cards will be accepted as well.

Donations can be dropped at the following locations between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the following locations:
- Fire Station 1, 1332 Emerson St.
- Fire Station 2, 702 Madison St.
- Fire Station 3, 1105 Central St.
- Fire Station 4, 1817 Washington St.
- Fire Station 5, 2830 Central St.
Overflow items will be donated to American Red Cross.
