First Evanston Homicide of Year Claims Life of Chicago Man
The man shot several times on Emerson Street Monday afternoon has died.

The man shot several times on Emerson Street in Evanston Monday afternoon has died. He has been identified as Ray Owens, a 27-year-old resident of Chicago.
The shooting fatality is Evanston’s first in 2015.

Officers responded to the 2000 block of Emerson Street at 1:45 p.m. and found Owens in a vehicle parked near an alley on the north side of the street with several gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead shortly after at Evanston-NorthShore Hospital.
The Evanston Police Department detective division is conducting an investigation with the assistance of the North Regional Major Crimes Task Force.
