Former Evanston Man Found Guilty of Robbing Bank

The 47-year-old could spend up to 20 years behind bars for the 2013 incident in Western Illinois.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s office in Northern Illinois, Conrad J. Gonzalez, 47, was found guilty of robbing th First Federal Savings Bank in Rock Falls on Oct. 30, 2013.

According to an indictment, Gonzalez approached a bank teller and handed her a note demanding money. When the teller attempted to retrieve the note from the counter, Gonzalez said, “That was a stupid thing to do,” and took the note back. The teller then handed $1,870 to Gonzalez who then walked out of the bank on foot.

Gonzalez could serve up to 20 years in prison. He will be sentenced on April 19.
