Frat House Fire at Northwestern Interrupts Recruitment Ceremony
The Sigma Chi fraternity house suffered smoke damage after a Tuesday night mishap.

EVANSTON, IL - A fraternity recruitment ceremony at Northwestern University this week went awry when bed sheets used as a backdrop burst into flames.
A small fire that caused smoke damage to the Sigma Chi fraternity house on Sheridan Road was put out quickly by Evanston firefighters Tuesday night, according to the Evanston Review.
Candles that had been used in a recruiting ceremony ignited some bed sheets, but the fire was put out quickly after units arrived and most of the damage was confined to one room.
