Gas Leak Closes Downtown Evanston Streets
Leak reported Tuesday near Maple Avenue high-rise under construction.
EVANSTON, IL - Some streets in downtown Evanston are closed early Tuesday evening as crews attempt to repair a gas leak.
The leak was first reported around 4 p.m. in front of the two-story building that houses Jay's Barbershop at 1577-1583 Maple Ave., according to an Evanston Now report.
As of 6:30 p.m., traffic is blocked on Maple Avenue between Davis and Grove streets.
