Gun Found Near Chicago Man Who Ran From Cops

Police needed to deploy a Taser on Dijon N. Caffie after a foot chase that began at Beck Park early Thursday morning.

EVANSTON, IL - A police foot chase that started in Beck Park early Thursday morning ended with the arrest and tasing of a Chicago man who may have dropped a weapon.

Police at the park in the 2400 block of Emerson Street at 12:05 a.m. saw a number of people there past curfew when one, Dijon N. Caffie, 18, Chicago, fled on foot.

During the chase, Caffie was seen reaching into his waistband. A loaded Sar Arms 9mm handgun was found there after the chase.

Caffie confronted police when they caught up to him in the 2300 block of Foster Street, according to report. One officer deployed a Taser on him, which had an immediate impact.

Caffie was charged with resisting a peace officer, disobedience to the police in public and being in a park after hours.
