Hospital Staff Assaulted; Unlocked Homes, Cars Burgled: Blotter

Gunfire strikes one parked car, all four rims and tires stolen from another on the Evanston PD blotter for Aug. 15 to Aug. 21.

EVANSTON, IL — The following information comes from the Evanston Police Department as a record of those arrested by police and incidents reported to police. Readers are reminded that an arrest is not an indication of guilt and criminal charges, which represent merely accusations by the state, are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. All persons named are innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

INCIDENTS

THEFT FROM VEHICLE
Someone stole all four tires and rims from a Honda parked in the 2400 block of Pioneer Road during the overnight hours of Aug. 7-8.

CAR BURGLARIES

  • Someone stole tools out of an unlocked Ford while parked between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Aug. 14 in a lot in the 1500 block of Sherman Avenue.
  • Between 4 p.m. Aug. 14 and 6:46 p.m. Aug. 15, someone stole a purse from an unlocked Subaru parked in the 1400 block of Dobson Street.
  • Cash was stolen from an unlocked BMW parked in the 900 block of Ridge Court during the overnight hours of Aug. 16-17.
  • Someone stole a purse from an unlocked Honda in the 1100 block of Brummel Street during the overnight hours of Aug. 17-18.

HOME BURGLARIES

  • Someone got into an apartment in the 1500 block of Hinman Avenue through and unlocked door and stole cash, a laptop and electronics between 7:30 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. on Aug. 14.
  • Someone stole a purse and a laptop from a single-family home in the 2600 block of Payne Street during the overnight hours of Aug. 13-14 after entering through an unlocked door.
  • Someone stole bicycles from an unlocked garage in the 800 block of Lincoln Street sometime between Aug. 4-13.
  • Sometime pried open a door to an apartment storage area and stole an air conditioner from the 900 block of Dobson Street between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Aug. 14.

SHOTS FIRED

  • Gunfire was reported around 10:19 p.m. on Aug. 14 in the area of Church Street and Fowler Avenue.
  • Shots were reported fired around 12:16 a.m. on Aug. 15 near the area of Church Street and Hartrey Avenue
  • Three cards was struck by gunfire in the 100 blocks of Callan and Clyde avenues around 1:53 a.m. on Aug. 18.
  • Between 10 and 10:20 p.m. on Aug. 19, shots were reportedly fired in the area of Pitner Avenue and Greenleaf Street.

VENDING MACHINE THEFT
Someone pried off the metal cover of a vending machine in a common area of an apartment building in the 600 block of Mulford Street and stole cash between Aug. 8-15.

DRUG THEFT
Shortly after 9 p.m. on Aug. 19, someone stole an unspecified amount of medication from a pharmacy in the 600 block of Chicago Avenue.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Lusher L. White, 31, of the 3400 block of West Bryn Mawr Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 2:13 p.m. on Aug. 14 in the 1800 block of Foster Street and charged with domestic battery.

Armani M. Keyes, 19, of the 900 block of Marshall Avenue in Bellwood, was arrested at 4:43 p.m. on Aug. 14 at the Evanston Police Department and charged with forgery.

James L. Montgomery, 46, of the 100 block of Dewey Avenue in Evanston, was arrested at 8:31 p.m. on Aug. 14 at the Evanston Police Department and charged with harassment by telephone.

Kamaron J. Charles, 29, of the 3100 block of West Jarlath Street in Chicago, was arrested shortly before 6 p.m. on Aug. 15 at St. Francis Hospital, 355 Ridge Ave., and charged with aggravated battery for reportedly assaulting staff.

Guy C. Cabrol, 31, of the 7500 block of North Damen Avenue in Chicago, was arrested around 3 a.m. on Aug. 17 at Sherman Plaza in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue and charged with battery.

Christian Madej, 26, of the 1800 block of West Birchwood in Chicago, was arrested at 1:17 p.m. on Aug. 17 in the 2100 block of Central Street and charged with use of an account number with the intention to defraud.

Howard C. Griffin, 50, of the 1800 block of Hartrey Avenue in Evanston, was arrested at 8:19 p.m. on Aug. 19 at his home and charged with domestic battery.

Nacey N. Mack, 37, of the 1800 block of Hovland Court in Evanston, was arrested at home at 2:11 a.m. on Aug 19 and charged with aggravated assault.
