Justin Wynn Fund Celebrates 30 Years of Shaping Young Leaders in Evanston
Red Tie Soirée planned at Evanston Art Center to mark milestone.

EVANSTON, IL - The Justin Wynn Fund, which honors the memory of a 9-year-old Evanston boy who died in an accident by recognizing two fourth graders from every District 65 elementary school each year, is celebrating its 30-year anniversary.
The fund “honors and guides youth leaders” of Evanston and celebrates and nurtures young minds by helping them develop a deep sense of self and responsibility for improving their communities. It was established in 1987 to remember Justin, who “exemplified the qualities of leadership, citizenship and sportsmanship,” according to a news release.
Its signature event - the Red Tie Soirée - will mark the occasion at the Evanston Art Center on Saturday, Feb. 11. The red tie theme serves as an homage to the late Michael Wynn, Justin’s father, who passed away in 2014. His favorite color was red, as is the color of his beloved fraternity, Kappa Alpha Psi.
