Kits Stumble Into New Year With Offense Stuck In Neutral

Held Under 40 Points For Second Straight Game

Evanston’s offense remained stuck in neutral Friday night and the Wildkits stumbled into the New Year with a 54-37 Central Suburban League South division basketball loss at Maine South.

The Wildkits were held under 40 points for the second game in a row, shooting just 36 percent (14-of-39) from the field, and fell to 9-4 on the season.

Coach Mike Ellis’ squad went almost 4 full minutes without a field goal in the first quarter and fell behind 15-10. And after a 3-point basket by Emery Jones early in the second quarter, they endured another field goal drought, this one lasting 5 and a half minutes in a game they trailed 32-17 at halftime.
