Loaded Handgun Found on South Boulevard Driver: Cops

EVANSTON, IL - Evanston police recovered a loaded handgun with its serial number removed during a minor traffic stop on South Boulevard Tuesday and arrested the driver.

Dante B. Printis, 29, Evanston was charged with unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful use of a weapon with defaced identification markings, both felonies, around 6:45 p.m. after he was pulled over in the 1400 block of South Boulevard, according to police. While approaching the car, detectives noticed a handgun - a loaded Taurus Millennium .45 caliber - on the floorboard behind the front passenger seat. The gun’s serial identification number had been obliterated.
