Looking Forward To 2014

We have reached the end of 2013, a year in which Evanston experienced significant violence both from groups within the community, and from individuals bent on engaging in wanton acts of violence. As we begin 2014, law abiding citizens will finally have the opportunity to avail themselves of the right to carry a concealed firearm for self defense. That right carries with it a tremendous responsibility, and I intend to do what I can to see that the right is both preserved and exercised properly and within the law.

Further, I am hopeful that various members of the community will undertake to do more to further improve the safety and security of our surroundings.Happy Holidays and a successful 2014 to all.
