Multiple Gun Arrests, Smash-and-Grab Car Burglaries: Blotter
Evanston Police Blotter: June 6 - June 12

EVANSTON, IL ā The following information comes from the Evanston Police Department and court records as a record of those arrested by police. Readers are reminded that an arrest is not an indication of guilt and criminal charges, which represent merely accusations by the state, are often dropped or reduced. All persons named are innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
INCIDENTS
CRIMINAL DAMAGE

- A Toyota parked on the street was spray painted Between 6 p.m. June 4 and 7:30 a.m. June 5 in the 1700 block of South Boulevard.
- An Acura parked on the street had its windows smashed in the 700 block of Dodge Avenue around 7 a.m. on June 5.
- A Chevy parked on the street was spray painted between 9 p.m. June 4 and 8 a.m. June 5.
- On the morning of June 5, graffiti was found at a property at a CTA depot near the intersection of South Boulevard and Chicago Avenue, a construction site in the 1500 block of Sherman Avenue and a residential garage in the 2400 block of Lake Street.
GUNMAN REPORTED
A man with a gun was reported at 3:44 p.m. on June 5 near the intersection of Central Street and Green Bay Road, but no one was found when the area was checked.
CAR BURGLARY
Someone stole cash out of an unlocked Ford parked in the 3600 block of Hillside Road between 9:30 p.m. on June 4 and 7 a.m. on June 5.

BIKE THEFT
Someone stole a Windsor bike locked to a rack in the 1700 block of Benson Avenue between 11 a.m. and 1:05 p.m. on June 4.
Someone stole a Schwinn bike left unattended in a yard in teh 1800 block of Foster Street between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on June 5.
BURGLARY
Someone damaged the door to a restaurant in the 1900 block of Church Street around 3 a.m. on June 6.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
A Chevy parked in an apartment's parking space was spray painted between 9 p.m. on June 4 and 6:30 a.m. on June 5 in the 400 block of Custer Avenue.
DEFACEMENT
A garage in the 400 block of Custer Avenue was vandalized with graffiti around 6:30 a.m. on June 5.
THEFT
Someone stole gas from a gas station in the 500 block of Howard Street around 9:22 on June 5.
RETAIL THEFT
Someone stole food from a restaurant in the 900 block of Chicago Avenue around 8:35 a.m. on June 6.
THEFT
Someone stole a parking meter mechanism and some cash between May 30 and June 7 from the 500 block of Davis Street.
THEFT
A patron at a supermarket in the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue reported that someone stole a wallet from inside a purse while shopping between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on June 7.
LOCKER THEFTS
Someone stole a purse from inside an unlocked locker at a shelter in the 1400 block of Chicago Avenue between 1 and 4 p.m. on June 7.
Someone stole a phone, wallet and other items between 10:30 and 11 a.m. on June 7 from inside a locker room of an athletic club in the 1700 block of Benson Avenue.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Graffitti was reported on June 11 on a sidewalk in the 1100 block of Monroe Street and at a playground in the 200 block of Richmond Avenue.
BIKE THEFT
Someone stole a Diamondback road bicycle between 1:20 and 1:30 p.m. on June 11 that had been left unattended on a driveway in the 1900 block of Orrington Avenue.
THEFT
Someone stole patio furniture from a yard in the 1900 block of Dodge Avenue between 10 p.m. on June 8 and noon on June 9.
SHOPLIFTING
Someone stole alcohol from a pharmacy in the 600 block of Chicago Avenue around 10:35 a.m. on June 8.
THEFT
Someone stole cash from a bedroom closet of an apartment in the 500 block of Sheridan Square around 11:24 a.m. on June 9.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Someone damaged flower pots in a yard in the 1400 block of Forest Avenue around 11:51 a.m. on June 8.
CAR BURGLARIES
On June 9, five car burglaries were reported. In the case of two vehicles left unlocked in the 400 block of Florence Avenue, nothing was taken. It was not known if a vehicle in the 100 block of Keeney Street had been locked. On the same night, someone broke out side windows on cars in the 2400 and 2500 blocks of Prairie Avenue and the 1900 block of Colfax Avenue. Cash and a GPS were taken in one case.
The next day, two more car burglaries were reported. In the 1100 block of Oak Avenue, someone stole cash from an unlocked car. In the 1100 block of Judson Avenue someone stole a purse from an unlocked Honda, police were told on June 10.
STOLEN CAR
Someone stole a Chevy from a residential driveway in the 100 block of Dempster Street between 1 and 11:10 a.m. on June 10. A key was used.
GARAGE BURGLARY
Someone stole multiple bicycles from a garage in the 2000 block of Harrison Street between 8 p.m. on June 8 and 11:05 a.m. on June 9.
THEFT
Someone stole a package with cell phones and accessories from a common area of an apartment between 1:20 p.m. on June 8 and 9:11 a.m. on June 9 in the 2000 block of Wesley Avenue.
SHOTS FIRED
On Jun 10, shots were reported at 12:24 a.m. in the 1900 block of Wesley Avenue and at 1:01 a.m. in the 1900 block of Hartrey.
THEFT
A package containing furniture was reported stolen from a common area in an apartment in the 100 block of Callan Avenue between 5:30 and 8 p.m. on June 8.
SPRAY PAINTED CARS
Three parked cars were reportedly spray painted in the 1900 block of Brown Avenue between 6 p.m. on June 11 and 1:30 p.m. on June 12.
STOLEN CAR
A Subaru parked in an apartment building's parking space in the 800 block of Mulford Street was stolen sometime between May 16 and June 11.
ARRESTS/CITATIONS
Ricco Dominick Aiden, 49, of the 2000 block of Darrow Avenue in Evanston, was arrested at 2:16 a.m. on June 6 in the 2000 block of Dodge Avenue and charged with domestic battery.
Fredo Demaret, 23, of the 500 block of Douglas Avenue in Waukegan, was arrested at 5:36 p.m. on June 5 in the 1800 block of Seward Street and charged with manufacture or delivery of cannabis, a felony.
William M. Dobbs, 26, of the 400 block of Ridge Avenue in Evanston, was arrested at 12:57 a.m. on June 6 at his home and charged with domestic battery.
Patrick J. Gordon, 53, of the 1400 block of Chicago Avenue in Evanston, was arrested at midnight on June 7 in the 1300 block of Hinman Avenue and charged with violation of an order of protection.
Alexis L. Hedquist, 28, of the 1200 block of Central Street in Evanston, was arrested at 10:13 p.m. on June 6 in the 1800 block of Chicago Avenue and charged with driving under the influence.
Mathew B. Korni, 25, of the 5800 block of Sheridan Road in Chicago, was arrested at 9:54 p.m. on June 6 in the 500 block of Howard Street and charged with unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, as well as other offenses. Read more: 35 Bags Of Crack Found Along Path Of Fleeing Felon: Cops Ā»
Ronald E. Loudon, 40, of the 1500 block of Emerson Street in Evanston, was arrested at 11:13 a.m. on June 7 and charged with unlawful use of a weapon by an armed habitual criminal, battery and various other offenses. Read more: Cops Tase Man Found With Handgun Ā»
Tavarious Anthony Wood, 27, of the 2400 block of Emerson Street in Evanston was arrested at 10:45 p.m. on June 7 in the 1800 block of Dodge Avenue and charged with unlawful use of a weapon by a felon and various other offenses. Read more: Handcuffed Man Takes Off Running Ā»
Robert David Conner, 28, of the 1400 block of Chicago Avenue in Evanston, was arrested at 12:49 p.m. on June 9 in the 300 block of Dempster Street and charged with battery.
Scott M. Fincher, 71, of the 6600 block of North Bosworth Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 3:22 a.m. on June 9 in 1700 block of Oak Avenue and charged with driving under the influence.
Troy M. Marshall, 32, of the 1800 block of Darrow Avenue in Evanston, Was arrested at 3:49 p.m. on June 8 in the 1900 block of Emerson Street and charged with battery.
Efrain Perez Garcia, 42, of the 3000 block of West 39th Place in Chicago, was arrested at 12:35 a.m. on June 10 in the 2500 block of Gross Point Road and charged with driving under the influence.
Gregory Reese, 32, of the 1800 block of West Lunt Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 3:33 p.m. on June 10 in the 1500 block of Darrow Avenue and charged with unlawful use of a weapon. Read more: Driver Pulls Gun On 60-Year-Old Evanston Man During Road Rage Incident Ā»
Justus J. Smith, 23, of the 1200 block of Pitner Avenue in Evanston, was arrested at 5:10 a.m. on June 10 in the 2000 block of Lake Street and charged with driving under the influence.
Christopher M. Holecsek, 33, of the 0-100 block of Golfview Road in Lake Zurich, was arrested at 9:35 p.m. on June 11 near the intersection of Crain Street and Dodge Avenue and charged with driving under the influence.
William George Reed, 57, of the 1600 block of West Lemoyne Street in Chicago, was arrested shortly before 5 p.m. on June 11 in the 500 block of Main Street and charged with battery.
