EVANSTON, IL — The City of Evanston is inviting residents to help name its newest bike lane sweeper.

Community members of all ages can submit imaginative, family-friendly name ideas. The city encourages submissions that capture the unique spirit and character of Evanston. The new bike lane sweeper will begin operating in April, helping to keep bike lanes and neighborhoods clean.

All name submissions will be reviewed by a city panel. The top ten names will then be released to the public for a voting period. Entries deemed inappropriate or offensive will be disqualified to ensure the final selection reflects community values.

Residents can submit name ideas online through March 4. The name submission period runs from February 25 to March 4. Following this, a public voting period to select a favorite name is scheduled from March 5 to March 12. The winning name will be announced on March 12.

This community engagement effort allows residents to play a role in celebrating the work that maintains clean and accessible bike lanes. The new sweeper is designed to enhance the city's infrastructure and cleanliness.
