Northwestern To Donate $1 Million Annually to Evanston
University commits to $1 million a year for five years. City to use funds on infrastructure, city services and special projects.

Northwestern University will donate $1 million annually to the city of Evanston for the next five years.
The funds will be provided for the city’s “Good Neighbor Fund” for a period of five years beginning on Sept. 1. The money will be used on projects jointly agreed on between Evanston Mayor Elizabeth Tisdahl and Northwestern President Morton Schapiro.
“My thanks to President Schapiro for the Good Neighbor policy and this wonderful investment in our community,” Tisdahl said. “Northwestern is one of the great universities in the country, which is a tremendous asset for Evanston.”
