Northwestern vs. Nebraska Football: Everything You Need To Know

Kickoff time, TV, point spread, tickets, parking, traffic and more.

EVANSTON, IL - Northwestern (1-2) finally managed a victory after two massively disappointing losses to start the year. The Wildcats beat visiting Duke 24-13 behind a 320-yard passing performance from quarterback Clayton Thorson (he added 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions).

The game was tied at 7 at halftime before Northwestern scored the next 17 points to take a commanding 24-7 lead. Thorson threw two touchdowns in that span (a 44 yarder to Solomon Vault and a 58 yarder to Austin Carr) and kicker Jack Mitchell added a 40-yard field goal.

Whatever glad tidings the Wildcats are feeling after their win, they could dissipate quickly Saturday, as an undefeated Nebraska team that defeated No. 22 Oregon 35-32 comes to town. Northwestern held Duke to only a 3.4 yards per carry average but will almost certainly find the going much tougher against a Cornhuskers team that ran for 228 yards against Oregon on 47 carries (a 4.9 average). Dual threat Nebraska quarterback Tommy Armstrong figures to pose a particularly vexing problem, just as he did against Oregon (200 yards passing, 3 touchdowns, 95 yards rushing, 1 touchdown).

Charter Bus Regulations

The City of Evanston provides free parking for charter buses for all Northwestern University home football games at Ryan Field. All buses must enter Ashland Avenue from Central Street and proceed north. Discharge passengers on the east side of the street at the stadium.

The major streets at the stadium are closed temporarily to vehicular traffic at the end of the game due to the large number of fans walking east from the stadium. Buses must stay in the lot until 15 minutes after the end of the game. Staff at the lot will release buses at the appropriate time. This allows the majority of pedestrians to clear the stadium area before the buses return (about 30 minutes after the end of the game). Buses returning early are a hazard and will not be allowed in the stadium area.

RV Parking

Due to construction on campus, there is no RV Parking for the 2016 Northwestern football season.
