Northwestern Women’s Sports Teams Will Play at ETHS in 2017-18
Beardsley Gym will be the temporary home for the two collegiate teams beginning in the fall.

EVANSTON, IL - Evanston Township High School will host Northwestern University women’s basketball and volleyball games during the 2017-18 season while Welsh-Ryan Arena undergoes a major renovation.
The university’s athletic department announced the plans to rent the high school’s historic Beardsley Gym on Wednesday.
"We're thrilled for the opportunity that Evanston Township High School has provided our student-athletes and fans," Jim Phillips, Northwestern's vice president for athletics & recreation, said in a news release. "This is a reflection of our already strong partnership with the Evanston community. We are excited for our women's basketball and volleyball programs to compete locally next year and create a true home-gym advantage as close to the Northwestern campus as possible."

ETHS Athletic Director Chris Livatino said the school is “honored” to have the Wildkits share their gym with the Wildcats for a year.

"ETHS highly values our many partnership opportunities with Northwestern," he said, adding that he is “thrilled” to host the volleyball and women's basketball teams there.
A $110 million extensive renovation project at Welsh-Ryan Arena on campus is expected to transform Northwestern athletics, according to previous reports. The improvements will be paid for by gifts from Patrick and Shirley Ryan, Stephen and Susan Wilson and other Northwestern benefactors.
