1. Gichigamiin Indigenous Nations Museum In Evanston Reopening With New Exhibitions (patch.com) — Evanston's Gichigamiin Indigenous Nations Museum reopens Oct. 1 on Central Street with new hands-on children's exhibits and a major "Indigenous Chicago" show. Residents can also look forward to a free Indigenous Peoples' Day celebration on Oct. 12, with hours and details to be posted on the museum's website.
   

2. City requests more details on data center proposal (dailynorthwestern.com) — City staff say a proposed data center at 1265 Hartrey Avenue doesn't currently fit Evanston's zoning rules and may need a text amendment, prompting a request for more details. After residents raised concerns at a 2nd Ward meeting, Mayor Daniel Biss floated a temporary moratorium on data centers, with an official update expected at Monday's City Council meeting.
   

3. Honoring Those Who Serve with $25 Tickets at the New Ryan Field (nusports.com) — Public servants who live or work in Evanston, along with Northwestern alumni in public service, can get $25 tickets for themselves and up to three guests at the new Ryan Field, starting with the Oct. 2 opener. Up to 500 discounted seats are reserved for each of five home games, with a simple verification process to apply.
   

4. 'Public art is the best thing' (evanstonroundtable.com) — A new three-story "Welcome Back to Main Street" mural now overlooks the city lot at 727 Main Street, built tile-by-tile by hundreds of Evanston residents and local students. Artists and neighborhood groups say the colorful piece is reviving post-pandemic community spirit, drawing people back to Main Street's independent businesses and inviting everyone who contributed a tile to come find their work.
   

5. ETHS comes home (evanstonroundtable.com) — Evanston Township High School capped homecoming week with a 31–14 football win over Glenbrook North, a packed pep rally, and the crowning of homecoming royalty at Memorial Stadium. Alumni and families joined tailgates, class reunions, and a new Homecoming Hustle 5K, giving Evanston residents multiple ways to celebrate Wildkit pride together all weekend.
