Pedestrian Lying Down In Road Just Before Fatal Hit: Police
A 27-year-old man was already down in the street prior to being hit by a car Wednesday morning, the investigation suggests.

EVANSTON, IL — The investigation into the death of a pedestrian on Howard Street suggests that a man had been lying down in the road before he was hit by a car. Police said that investigators from the Major Crash Assistance Team are still investigating the circumstances of Wednesday morning's fatal traffic crash.
Antoine S. Jones, 27, of Chicago, was identified as the pedestrian who was struck and killed around 7 a.m. on Howard Street just east of its intersection with Ridge Avenue, according to police. He was taken to St. Francis Hospital and pronounced dead.
The driver, a 23-year-old Chicago woman, was not issued any citations or charged with any offenses. Police said she was the only occupant in a four door sedan and remained on scene until police and paramedics arrived.
