Police Chief Named Supervisor of Evanston Fire Department

EVANSTON, IL - Police Chief Richard Eddington will be on double duty for awhile as he’s been named the interim supervisor of the Evanston Fire Department, according to an Evanston Now report.

He will step in for the departed Fire Chief Greg Klaiber, who will retire from the city next week and has accepted a position with Northwestern University.

City Manager Wally Bobkiewicz said the city "will conduct its own nationwide recruitment process" to fill the vacancy.

Eddington's appointment with the fire department is on an interim basis.
