When police asked the passenger in the front seat to get out of the vehicle, he took off running. Chicago police assisted Evanston officers in finding him and taking him into custody in the 28000 block of West Birchwood Avenue, where no other contraband was recovered.

Kenneth C. Sandy, 25, of the 2100 block of West Devon Avenue, Chicago, was identified as the man who ran from the front seat, police said. He was only charged in connection with his attempted escape, so he faces one misdemeanor count of resisting or obstructing police.

Dugan said it was later determined that Martinez-Roberts and Sandy were not involved in the original call of a disturbance in progress.
