'Pregnant' Cat Stolen From Front Lawn In Evanston
A neighbor recovered the filched feline but did not say when or how, police said.

EVANSTON, IL — A cat was stolen Monday from the yard of a home in southeastern Evanston by a group of children, but police said it was later recovered. A neighbor of the cat's owner in the 500 block of Forest confronted a three boys and a girl who appeared to be under 10 years old while they were taking the cat, according to police.
"They said the cat was pregnant and just took it," said Evanston Police Cmdr. Joseph Dugan. He said two of the children took the cat and headed south over the walls of the neighboring Calvary Cemetery. The other two boys rode bicycles away from the scene.
The neighbor later recovered the cat, according to Dugan, but did not say where or how.
