Public Comment Sought On 5-Year Community Development Plan
Evanston wants feedback on housing, community and economic development needs and strategies, focusing primarily on lower-income residents.

The 30-day comment period for the City’s 2020-2024 Consolidated Plan and 2020 Action Plan opens Monday, November 18 and closes Tuesday, December 17, 2019.
The Consolidated Plan identifies and prioritizes housing, community and economic development needs and strategies, focusing primarily on the needs of low- and moderate-income residents. The Plan will be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as part of the funding process for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership (HOME), and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) programs. The statutory goals of the Consolidated Plan are to provide decent housing, a suitable living environment and economic opportunities for low- and moderate-income residents. The 2020 Action Plan outlines how the City will use grant funds from HUD in 2020.
