Report on ETHS Locker Theft Investigation Blasted

Board member says school missed an opportunity to be transparent.

EVANSTON, IL - At least one Evanston Township High School board member was less than thrilled with the principal’s report on the cases of theft from student lockers that causes an uproar in the school community.

Board member Jonathan Baum said he was “embarrassed” by the report presented recently by ETHS Principal Marcus Campbell, according to an Evanston Now report.

Baum said he was disappointed the school failed in an opportunity to be transparent in the process.

The report acknowledged some wrongdoing on the part of the school, but did not name the security guards involved in the thefts citing personnel issues.
