Student Brought Gun to ETHS Wednesday: Cops

EVANSTON, IL - An Evanston Township High School student was charged with a felony Wednesday after a school police resource officer found a handgun in his backpack.

Martez R. Hill, 18, 605 Case Pl. in Evanston was charged with one count of unlawful use of a weapon, a felony and one count of unlawful use of a weapon with no valid FOID card, a misdemeanor after the resource officer found the unloaded Walther P38 semi-automatic handgun in his backpack.

The resource officer was notified of the discovery made by school officials.
