Teen from Skokie Had Loaded Handgun in Evanston Traffic Stop: Cops
Police charged Corde Triplett with multiple felonies on Tuesday.

EVANSTON, IL - Police in Evanston arrested a Skokie man they say had a loaded gun on him during a traffic stop.
Corde D. Triplett, 18 was a passenger in a vehicle police say crossed the yellow line of traffic in the 1800 block of Ridge Avenue around 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, according to a report from the Evanston Police Department.
Police say they smelt "an odor of burnt cannabis" when stopping the vehicle and found a loaded Kel Tac 9mm handgun in Triplett's waistband during a search of both occupants.

The 18-year-old male driver from Evanston was issued a traffic citation and released.
An investigation revealed the recovered handgun had a serial number that had been obliterated. Triplett was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, possession of a serial number obliterated and two counts of no valid firearm owner's identification card.
