Teens Nabbed in Car Burglary Cases

Evanston police arrested three youths on Christmas Eve and found proceeds from car burglaries in Evanston and Skokie.

EVANSTON, IL - Three teenagers were charged on Christmas Eve in connection to a string of car burglaries in Evanston and Skokie.

Police in Evanston responded to the 1500 block of McDaniel Avenue around 8 p.m. on Dec. 24 to a call of a group of men having broken a vehicle window and stealing an I-Pad from inside. Soon after, police found three people matching the description of the offenders in the 2400 block of Lake Street.

After finding the I-Pad and proceeds from two other car burglaries - one in Evanston and the other in Skokie - the three were charged with two counts of burglary to motor vehicle.

Two of the boys, ages 16 and 17, are Evanston residents and the third is a 16-year-old from Skokie.
