And it's so easy to get done! Most gardeners neglect to sharpen their tools each year. They continue to get out their old pruners and struggle with branches and stems that continually get stuck in the dull blades. Many gardeners don't sharpen their shovels to make it easier to cut through errant roots and hard soil. Why not make it easy on yourself? At the Downtown Farmers' Market every week there is a good sharpener located on the far South side against the Parking building. His name is Joe Schmidt. He now sharpens pruners, hedge clippers and many garden tools (not shovels). It takes a week because he does them at his home and brings them back the next Saturday. But he's good and will save you a lot of trouble. Note: he does not do shovels or big tools like that.
