Wilmette Man Had Drugs While Violating Order Of Protection: Cops
He was arrested after police responded to an early-morning disturbance outside the Holiday Inn.

EVANSTON, IL — A Wilmette man has been charged with possessing drugs while violating a restraining order at the Evanston Holiday Inn early Sunday morning, police said. While responding to a 5:30 a.m. call of a disturbance outside the 1501 Sherman Ave. hotel, police said they encountered a bearded man having of a "verbal altercation" with a woman.
After a brief investigation, they determined the man was violating the terms of an active court order protecting the woman, according to police reports.
Jonathan R. Friedman, 45, of the 700 block of Leamington Avenue, was arrested and searched at the scene, police said.

Friedman reportedly had a variety of pills with him at the time, including Adderall, Viagra and Xanax. Police also reported finding 7 grams of cannabis.

Friedman was taken into custody at 6:28 a.m. and charged with violating an order of protection and possession of a controlled substance. He was also issued a local ordinance citation for cannabis possession.
Police said Friedman was released on a personal recognizance bond, and his next court date has been set for Feb. 28. He could not be reached for comment.
