Woman Choked, Held Against Will for 14 Hours: Cops
A 50-year-old Evanston woman told police of a horrifying incident involving her boyfriend.

Evanston, IL - A woman told police on Friday that her boyfriend sexually assaulted her and held her against her will at the couple’s residence for more than 14 hours.
Stephane N. Edouard, 37, of the 800 block of Michigan Ave. in Evanston, was charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault, domestic battery and unlawful restraint - all felonies - on Friday after police were informed of an alleged incident between him and a 50-year-old Evanston woman.
According to police, officers were called to an area near Main Street and Michigan Avenue at 1:44 p.m. Friday, when the victim called for help. She told police Edouard battered and sexually assaulted her at their residence. She said she was choked and held against her will beginning at 11 p.m. the night before. She was able to flee just before she called police, according to a report.

The woman was treated for bruises on her face, neck and shoulders at Presence Saint Francis Hospital.
Edouard was taken into custody at the Michigan Avenue residence.
