Woman Falls Into Lake Off Pier in Evanston

EVANSTON, IL - A woman who fell off the pier at the Church Street boat ramp in Evanston Saturday afternoon was saved by a citizen who pulled her out of the water and fire personnel who provided additional medical care.

The 67-year-old woman was walking along the pier and fell off around 4:45 p.m. She was pulled from Lake Michigan by a citizen who performed CPR, according to Evanston police.

After paramedics arrived immediately and administered additional medical care, the woman regained her vital signs.

She was transported to Evanston North Shore University Hospital, where she remains in critical, but stable, condition.
