An Agreement Reached!

The Board of Education of Evergreen Park Elementary School District 124, reached a tentative agreement on a three-year contract.

The Board of Education of Evergreen Park Elementary School District 124, along with Superintendent of Schools Dr. Robert Machak, is pleased to announce that it has reached a tentative agreement on a three-year contract with the Evergreen Park Federation of Teachers Local 943. The Board will meet to formally approve the contract, which will cover the 2016-17, 2017-18, and 2018-19 school years, as soon as all the contract details have been vetted by the Union and the District's legal counsel. "The union prioritized several concerns at the beginning of the negotiation process, " said D124 Board of Education President Ms. Kimberly Leonard. "We are pleased to have been able to address every one of them; we want our staff to know that we respect them and the incredibly important work that they do."

"As an educator, I am really encouraged by the steps that the Board and Union took with this new contract to support quality teaching and learning in District 124," added Machak.

Details of the new contract will be released upon formal approval by the Board of Education, which is expected to take place during a special meeting within the next few weeks at the District 124 Administrative Center, 2929 W. 87th Street.
