Evergreen Park Recreation Department offers Cooking Classes for Adults

The Evergreen Park Recreation Department always listens to the requests of the residents for program ideas. Thus was born the idea of a Cooking Class for adults!

Taught by local resident Steve Grazevich, the class is designed for those adults looking to refine their cooking skills or try out new recipes.

There are two upcoming classes scheduled; the next class will take place on Thursday, March 27 at 6pm in the Community Center kitchen. The scheduled menu includes Meatloaf Cupcakes and green beans, with a delicious dessert of Pecan Caramel Bars. For this event (Thurs 3/27 only) you are invited to bring some wine or beer!

The next class will take place the following week, with a morning session on Thursday, April 3 at 11:00am; the menu for that afternoon will be Chicken Noodle Soup with homemade noodles, followed by delicious homemade chocolate chip cookies.

The fee is $35 for each class, including all materials, along with the friendly and expert instructions. Registration for both classes can be done online.

“We’ve offered the Cooking Class for Kids for several years,” commented Kelly Kelly, Program Coordinator for the Recreation Department. “It’s always been a big hit. But then we had an adult come in to register their kids for the youth cooking class, and they mentioned that we should do one for adults. And we thought, ‘Why not?’”

The Recreation Department is currently busy planning a full schedule of summer activities, including a little thing that happens on Friday, June 27 that involves marchers, floats, music and fireworks.
