Teen Identified As Evergreen Park Shooter: Cops
Police say they have identified a Chicago teen as a suspect in a shooting that left an Evergreen Park man dead.
EVERGREEN PARK, IL — A Chicago teen has been identified as the shooter that left a 25-year-old Evergreen Park man dead, police said in a news release. The suspect is a male juvenile and police are not releasing his name.
Evergreen Park police officers responded to the 9100 block of South St. Louis Avenue after neighbors reported hearing gunfire at 7:19 p.m. July 21. Police found a man, identified as Aladin Jamaleddin, with gunshot wounds. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was pronounced dead at 7:52 p.m. A law enforcement source told Patch the man was shot in front of his mother.
The juvenile was identified as the suspect by the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force. Evergreen Park police did not indicate if an arrest has been made, saying:

“We are unable to release any further information at this time concerning the incident of the offender as this remains an ongoing investigation. The Evergreen Park Police Department wishes to inform the residents we believe this is an isolated incident between two individuals who were acquainted with one another. We do not believe there is any further risk to our community.”
