Chicago Man Charged With Murder In Shooting Of Evergreen Park Man
Brandon Kizer has been charged in the fatal shooting of his step-father, Anthony Young, who was shot at his home on New Year's Eve.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL — A 24-year-old Chicago man has been charged with the killing of his stepfather in a deadly shooting that took place in Evergreen Park on Friday, police announced on Monday.
Brandon K. Kizer, who lives in the 8100 block of West Loomis Avenue, was charged on Sunday with the killing of Anthony Young, 52, police said in a news release.
Police were called to the 8800 block of South California Avenue for the reports of shots fired at 9:15 on New Year’s Eve.

Young, who was not previously pubicly identified by police, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center after first responders treated him for gunshot wounds. At the time, police arrested a man they characterized as a person of interest and who was later identified as Young’s stepson.
The shooting remains under investigation by Evergreen Park police and the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force.
