Chicago Man and Friend Arrested After Controlled Drug Buys: Cops

A Chicago man and his friend who was with him were arrested on drug charges after controlled buys, prosecutor said.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL -- Evergreen Park police arrested a Chicago man after he allegedly sold crack cocaine to an undercover tactical officer. Torre Hubbard, 43, appeared before Cook County Judge Peter Felice on felony charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Ronald Jackson, 55, of Justice, was arrested with Hubbard on charges of possession of a controlled substance, the prosecutor said.

According to the charges, Evergreen Park police arranged to buy crack cocaine from Hubbard on June 6, June 8 and June 12 in Chicago. Hubbard was arrested June 13 in the 0-100 block of Hickory Trace Drive in Justice. The prosecutor said that Hubbard has three prior felonies, including possession of a controlled substance and manufacture and delivery.

Jackson was arrested with Hubbard after police found him possession of cocaine, hydrocodone and naloxone, the prosecutor said. Jackson is currently on probation for possession of a controlled substance. A violation of probation was filed.

Bail for Jackson was set at $30,000. Hubbard was released on a $30,000 I-bond. Hubbard was also ordered to submit to random drug testing and was placed on a curfew while the case was pending. Both men are due back in court July 10 in Bridgeview.
