My Cause, My Cleats allows NFL players to choose a charitable cause of their choice, with players able to wear custom cleats showcasing their cause. This is the second year O’Connor, who grew up in Mount Greenwood and went to St. Rita High School, has dedicated his My Cause, My Cleats game to Christmas Without Cancer, and has donated a shoe to be used to raise funds for the organization
“Our organization is so grateful to Pat for once again choosing Christmas Without Cancer for the My Cause, My Cleats game, and for using his platform to raise awareness and much needed funds to continue our mission of helping Chicago-area patients and families battling cancer,” said Renee Copeland, vice president, Christmas Without Cancer.

Since 2003, Christmas Without Cancer has aided thousands of people across the Chicago regionby providing holiday gifts, as well as everyday necessities to local families that are stricken with cancer. Founded in 2003 by an oncology nurse in the south suburbs, the organization quietly identifies and adopts multiple families throughout the year and supplies them with gift cards for groceries, medications, gas, and other “need” items, as well as help with mortgage payments, rent, daycare expenses, tuition and travel related expenses for treatment.
