Village Offers Exciting Summer Internships For College Students Residing In Evergreen Park
College students who live in Evergreen Park will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of summer internship projects.

EVERGREEN PARK, ILStudents who are completing their freshman, sophomore or junior year of college and reside in Evergreen Park are invited to apply for L.E.A.D. internship this summer. The Village of Evergreen Park is now accepting applications through April 3.
Interns will see how local government operates and will be provided resources to help further their careers. Interns will be exposed to multiple village departments and functions and will have opportunities to go on local field trips and hear from guest speakers. Summer interns will need to commit to a flexible schedule of 15-20 hours per week. The internship will begin on May 28,and will end on July 24. Interns will earn $15 per hour.
The interns will work part-time for seven weeks over the summer. They will also have access to various professional development opportunities, including field trips and hearing from guest speakers. Applications can be found here.

L.E.A.D. Evergreen Park interns will be assigned projects within multiple areas of focus, including community engagement, events and recreation, and government administration. Examples of projects interns may work on include:
- Plan environmental-related events (shred/e-waste recycling events)
- Plan and execute “Meet the Village” event for residents • Assist with themed activities at the Farmers Market • Attend village events and perform duties as assigned (Independence Day Parade, Food Truck Festival)
- Assist with social media content, including taking photos and creating video content •
- Assist with records management and filing

- Reference from an academic or professional contact (a supervisor, professor, or mentor) that includes their name, title, and contact information.
Completed application materials should be emailed to hr@evpkadm.org. Please include “LEAD EP Application” in the subject line.
Application materials may also be dropped off at Evergreen Park Village Hall, 9418 S. Kedzie Ave. during regular business hours. The application period for the 2026 program will close on April 3. Candidates will be chosen after a review of applications and interviews conducted by a committee of resident and staff volunteers.
